Stainless Steel Grates – (Summit and Genesis)Your cooking grates should be cleaned after each use. This will ensure that your foods will continue to taste great. Cleaning your grill will also keep your grill functioning safe and effectively. To clean stainless steel grates make sure the grill has been lit for a few minutes first. A great time to do this would be after cooking on your grill. At this point scrap the food off the grates with a stainless steel brush. Your cooking grates should be pulled out once every 6 months to be cleaned thoroughly. Place your grates in soap and water and let them soak for a while. Scrub them with a scrub brush. Be sure to rinse them with water and wipe dry.
Porcelain Enameled Grates – (Spirit) Your cooking grates should be cleaned after each use. To clean porcelain enameled grates make sure the grill has been lit for a few minutes first. A great time to do this would be after cooking on your grill. At this point scrap the food off the grates with a brass bristle brush. It is also a good idea to do a thorough clean your porcelain enameled grates about every 6 months. Simply remove the grates and clean in soap and water with a soft sponge.
Flavorizer Bar (Stainless Steel) – (Summit and Genesis) Flavorizer Bars should be cleaned as soon as you notice any type of crud on them. Usually after about 10 uses you will need to clean them by scraping them with a stainless steel brush. Place your stainless steel flavorizer bars in soap and water and let them soak for a while. Scrub them with a scrub brush. Be sure to rinse them with water and wipe dry.

Burners (Stainless Steel) – (Summit, Genesis and Spirit) First remove grates, flavorizer bars and igniter wires before removing burners. To clean the outside of your burners scrap them with a wire brush. To clean the inside of your burners flush them out with a garden hose. This will ensure that port holes are not plugged and your grill will have proper gas flow. Make sure your burners are completely dry before putting them back into your grill.
